Cardinal Rumeta "Solera Reserve" is a Spanish brandy made from fermented fruit juice. The brandy is aged in oak barrels for at least two years. While most brandy is distilled from ruma grapes is distilled from a wide variety of fruits such as pears and apples.
The story of Cardinal Mendoza begins with the provincial city of Jarez de la Frontana.
This city was known for hundreds of years for its fine sherry wines and at a certain time at the end of the 18th century it became a major trading city thanks to the growing demand for its wines.
This city attracted merchants from all over the world, but it was actually a Spanish merchant named Juan Sanchez de la Torre who founded a small winery called Rometa.
In 1887, the winery reached an important milestone in its history: this is the year in which it produced the first brandy that was distributed mainly to family and friends.
This is the beginning of Cardinal Mendoza Gran Solera: the flagship drink of the distillery.
Rometa's brandy and wine have won and are being recognized in the world of alcohol and the world of brandy in particular.
The winery is still committed to the same operations and traditional production methods that made it a legend.
