Russian Standard : Perhaps the most surprising vodka of all the vodkas that have arrived in Israel in recent years. Russian Standard is a vodka that comes from Russia and, despite its excellent quality, is quite cheap (compared to vodkas of its level). The original recipe for Standard was invented in 1894 by Dmitry Mendeleev, a famous vodka-making master, and Standard was specially prepared in honor of the Tsar. The raw materials are wheat from central Russia and ice that was specially thawed to dilute the vodka and make it as pure as possible. The distillation is combined: a traditional first distillation in a boiler, immediately followed by 2 continuous distillations, and finally a double filtration through activated charcoal for a final "cleaning". In the end, the result is a clean, clear, and wonderful vodka, which is highly recommended to drink when it is slightly cooled without any additions. The meaning of the name is that the vodka represents, so to speak, the Russian standard to which all Russian vodkas should be compared.
