Redan Merlot presents fruit characteristics of cherry and blueberry, with in the background aromas of tobacco, dried orange peel and a hint of sage. This is a flavorful Merlot, boasting a full body and a long and enjoyable finish. While Jordan Merlot is enjoyable to drink now, it will continue to develop and improve in bottle over the next few years and under proper storage conditions will remain in excellent condition for over a decade from the vintage year. Try the wine alongside a steaming bowl of beef bourguignon, beef fillet with mushroom ragout, or roast chicken with red peppers. The grapes from which Jordan Merlot is made were harvested from our vineyards located in the center and north of the Golan Heights, areas that have been producing high quality Merlot for two decades. The wine was aged for 18 months in small French oak barrels, about 40% of which are new.

The Galilee is the northernmost growing area in Israel and is considered the best for growing wine grapes. Within this growing area, the Golan Heights is the part where the temperatures are the coolest and the grapes are of the highest quality. The vineyards on this volcanic plateau grow from 400 meters to 1,200 meters above sea level and the higher ones meet snow in winter.
