Goldstar Can Beer

Israeli Lager Capital in the style of Lager Donkel Munich.

It was first brewed in 1950 by bromaster Menachem Berliner.

The capital was aimed at a new audience: IDF soldiers and young people.

Goldstar was sold at a discounted price at Sycamore Canteens, and was a great success.

Goldstar was the first Israeli beer sold from the barrel.

The name of the beer, Goldstar (Goldstar, Gold Star), and Samla, a six-headed star, originated in the Medieval Beer Makers Guild.

The star, known as "Bierstern" or "Brauerstern" was the symbol of the guild, and has been imprinted since the Middle Ages on beers considered to be pure and high quality.
